John Leboffe has owned and operated businesses since 1980 in the area of international economic development, travel related services and more recently energy efficiency and water resources management.
His work has given him an opportunity to travel to Europe and several developing nations giving him a unique perspective on both the economic development process and the synergies that result from interactions among culturally diverse people and communities. In recent years he has been engaged in work activities aimed at linking communities in the United States and internationally, developing and implementing entrepreneurial project with a focus on tourism and environment.
John Leboffe has started a crowdfunding campaign with a goal of raising $86,400.
Project Objective achieve some measure of economies of scale in small towns and rural communities through the creation of a local business that participates in the marketing, sales and project implementation efforts.
John says “As an American who has lived, studied and worked overseas, I feel it is important that visitors to the United States experience our ethnic neighborhoods, southern hospitality, diversity, western and Native American Heritage along with our unique entrepreneurial spirit that has led to achievements in land conservation, renewable energy, water and transit initiatives.”
Project Targets hotel and other travel accommodations, small commercial, retail and office buildings, museums and entertainment venues located in historic districts and main streets of towns and suburban areas with a history as manufacturing, agricultural and/or river, canal, coastal, rail and lake transport hub communities.
Project Activities purchase of energy efficiency and water resources equipment, software and specialized consulting in community planning, architecture and design and related training services.

Industry and Commerce Itineraries and Personalized Travel Solutions In the North East Atlantic Mid-America US West and American South Business and Vacation Travel Logistics Itineraries, anchor locations, hub and spoke travel destinations.

Energy Efficiency in Resilient Communities:
Energy Management for Small and Medium-sized Commercial Buildings. Small and Medium-sized Commercial Buildings account for 95 percent of building stock and consume half the energy in a sector of the economy responsible for 20 percent of the total energy consumption. Owners of smaller buildings are often unaware of the amount of energy wasted and the opportunity for savings that building automation systems provide. This sector hasn’t BAS for the following reasons: the high cost of tailoring software and acquiring hardware components is beyond the reach of most small- and medium-sized properties; the owner is not always the tenant that pays the utility bill, hence limited incentive to invest in the building’s energy efficiency.
Water Resources Strategies on Main Street:
Urban Flooding many small towns across the country lose drinking water because of aging pipes, in addition, asphalt and concrete prevent rainwater from soaking into the ground. The solution to inadequate storm water and drinking water management: green infrastructure like rain gardens and bios wales.
Water Losses from aging infrastructure and faulty metering lead to lost revenue for utilities and higher rates for water users. Also, increasing demand, maintenance and energy costs are responsible for a 90% increase in utility rates. This trend can be countered by best management practices BMP that include state-of-the-art audits, leak detection monitoring, targeted repairs and upgrades, pressure management, and better metering technologies.
Mission Create new sustainable wealth and economic opportunities in a community by:
Funding Objective creation of Special Purpose Vehicles – SPVs – in 12 communities across the United States. Each local area is capitalized with US$ 36 thousands raised on the basis of a US$ 100/unit share. Individual Investors can purchase a maximum of 50 unit shares (US$ 5000) in a specific SPV. An investor can participate in one, more or all 12 SPVs.
SPV Ownership Investors will own 50 percent of a SPV, if the US$ 36 thousand goal is reached; otherwise, they will own a discounted percent of the funded project i.e. a fund of US$ 30000 = 43% ownership, a fund of US$ 25000 equals 36 percent ownership.
A US$ 100 share = 0.14 percent ownership in a community SPV and a US$ 5000 maximum SPV share purchase = 7 percent ownership, a 0.06% bonus. A US$ 5000 purchase in all 12 SPVs for a total of US$ 60 thousand = 7 percent ownership in the entire cash program capitalized at US$ 432 thousand.
The balance of the SPV shares are owned by the project sponsor, local stakeholders and staff who do not receive compensation from your contributions; they acquire a stake in the SPV with in-kind participation. Hence a total capitalization of US$ 864,000.
The Funding request of $ 86,400 equals 10% of total capital and 20% of the cash component for our 12 towns. If a lesser amount is raised will be apportioned among the 12 towns based in part on your preferences.
