We are restoring the barn on our family farm to create a winery, retail space and performance venue. My great-great-grandfather, William Willis built the barn in about 1890. Bill Willis was a vintner, brewer and distiller, and now we hope to again create wines in his tradition – all natural ingredients made using sustainable practices.
The work of restoring the barn began two years ago with a new foundation, a new electrical system, and new siding. We are replacing the siding with rough-sawn oak that is locally sourced from our Amish community.
Now we are seeking help for the final push. We need to raise money to replace the flooring to make it safe for visitors, and to replace the roof to make sure the barn stands for another 100 years.
The barn will be used for making and selling our all natural wines, for sales of Amish-made items (furniture, rugs, brooms, etc.), and for exhibits of local art, and weekend performances.
Renovating this beautiful old barn is just one part of the larger project of establishing WILLIS HILL ALL NATURAL WINES.
